| Introduction | Aly Monroe was born and educated in England. She has spent a large part of her life abroad – mostly in Spain, where she worked as a teacher, translator and voice-over. She is married and has three children. ‘The Maze of Cadiz’ , published in 2008, is her first novel, and also the first in the Peter Cotton series. ‘Washington Shadow’ ,published in 2009, is the second Peter Cotton book and was shortlisted for the CWA Ellis Peters Historical Fiction Award. The third novel of the series, 'Icelight', was published in October 2011, and was the winner of the 2012 CWA Ellis Peters Historical Dagger. 'Black Bear', the fourth in the series, is due out in May 2013 |
