Introduction Diane Euston attended St. Thomas More grade school, Grandview High School and Notre Dame de Sion. She received her degree in Communication from Avila in 2004. After working in sales in the wine and liquor business, Diane followed her heart and returned to school. She earned her certification in High School English and taught at an inner-city charter school. In 2013, she earned her Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning from Avila University and she's currently working on her masters in history through Missouri State. She currently teaches English, Journalism and KC History at a local high school, writes a local history column in the Martin City Telegraph, hosts a podcast with radio personality Bob Fescoe called "Kansas City: 2 States, 1 Story," serves on the Board of Directors for the BMA Foundation and Westport Historical Society and devotes much of her time to historic preservation. In 2020, she was part of the Save The Paseo committee who successfully put the renaming of the historic boulevard to a citywide vote. She was honored to receive an "Excellence in Historic Preservation" award in October 2017 from the NSDAR. She can be reached at thefamilygenies@gmail.com.
