| Introduction | I started my career in 2008 as an EMT and became a Paramedic in 2010. I have worked for private EMS services in the metropolitan areas of Atlanta to include DeKalb, Fulton and Cobb Counties. I have worked as a Paramedic mainly in the 9-1-1 environment with a small stent as a Critical Care Paramedic, which I loved. I have also worked as a FTO and Field Supervisor and realized I enjoy patient care more the personnel management. Currently I work in a rural/suburban 9-1-1 system in Forsyth County. I have a BS in Adult Education and Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration. I am a big believer in the Community Paramedic paradigm and MIH. Currently I teach as a paramedic instructor for a local technical college with over 4 years of EMS education experience. I believe that paramedics are the tip of the spear in the healthcare community, highly educated and specialized and if properly established can revolutionize health care with MIH community paramedic emergency 9-1-1 response and care and critical care and transport of sick and injured patients. |
