Introduction I've been a competitive over-achiever since I was a kid. It started with winning the spelling bee (as a major underdog) in 5th grade. Then in high school I clawed my way to the top at the school newspaper, as editor. During all this time, I pestered my friends and family to distraction by asking them to play any and all kinds of games--first and foremost it was poker, then spades, Monopoly and Risk for awhile, then I got into Trivial Pursuit. When people quit playing those games with me, I made up some of my own. I have a game that I hope to market some day called "You Be the Judge." I can't tell you how it's played because you would steal the idea.
Interests Poker--playing, watching, and writing about it.
Favorite Books Poker books now mainly, but in my previous life, as an educator and editorial professional I read a wide variety of things--Tim O'Brien is one of my favorite fiction authors, but I read a lot of non-fiction books as well, especially in the areas of psychology and business. When I need something to make me laugh, I always turn to David Sedaris. His stories about his "wacked out" family makes me feel normal by comparison.

What makes you think life is fair? Life's not fair, and neither is poker.
