| Introduction | How meaningful are the scripture readings during worship services at your parish? Are your lay readers trained to communicate God's Word clearly as they read? While professor of communication studies at Concordia University-Ann Arbor, I taught public speaking, oral reading of scripture, rhetoric, and literature for 34 years. I earned a Ph.D. at Wayne State University, Detroit and a Lutheran Teaching Diploma from Concordia. Now "Professor Emerita" at the college, I currently conduct lay reader workshops and serve as archivist for the Michigan District-LCMS. |
