About me

Gender Female
Occupation Principal (Retired)
Location New Delhi, Delhi
Introduction I retired as Principal of Acharya Narendra Dev College of the University of Delhi, in 2018. I started college teaching in 1975, but went back to join to do Ph.D. in 1976. After a break, I completed my Ph.D. in 1984. I also did a few years as Research Scientist in the Department of Botany, before joining in a permanent position at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College in 1992. I joined the Centre for Science Education and Communication as a Fellow in the year 2003, and as Principal at ANDC in November 2005. In this blog I will be writing about my diverse experiences in life, also as Principal of a UG college, but I will share most about my current passion - bird watching. As a break away from the vagaries of an administrative position, I started taking short birding trips both in and outside Delhi. Like everything I take up, I got into birding full steam and my aim is to see as many Indian birds as I can. I also take photographs of birds many of which I will be posting here. Most weekends will find me going in search of birds - usually in and around Delhi, but sometimes to other parts of India. Each time I travel abroad for work or holiday I do snatch a few days for birding there.
