| Introduction | I am a Floridian by birth in a small town called Belle Glade, that is on Lake Okeechobee, but in Palm Beach county. Mom and Dad moved us around a bit after I was 8 years old.....so we lived in West Palm Beach, Hobe Sound, Ft. Pierce, and eventually landed in Inverness which is in North Central Florida. Decided to go to the University of Florida and graduated in June 1981 with a BS in Social Studies Education. Met my husband, Jim, when my next door neighbor in Gainesville got married and we walked together in the wedding. Jim was from Atlanta, so when I finished school headed a little further north and began looking for a job. I got incredibly lucky and got the last Social Studies job opening at a brand new high school in Gwinnett county called Brookwood High! Wow!! And I've been in Georgia ever since. It's clearly my new home and I do go home and visit Inverness because my family still lives there. This blog reflects what is going on in my life and my favorite things!! |
