Introduction	Nadia has an ongoing passion for visual arts, having first studied Art and Design over 25 years ago. In her work she is drawn to a contemporary abstract style that captures the ‘essence, spirit and feeling’ of a subject in a soft, organic and sometimes very colourful and textural way; preferring to create the lively,energetic impasto style of the palette knife. Her love of nature and innate curiosity in painting and design has led her to the intriguing art of stone sculpting. She prefers to work in the tradition of hand held tools, as she feels more connected to the stone. She is especially inspired by the rich tapestry of colour in the local sandstone and the softness and purity of limestone. Adoring the poetry of stone in its natural form, she intuitively carves abstract and organic sculptures.
