| Introduction | My passion is telling the stories of ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Since 2003 I have been researching and writing about the lives of Forgotten Patriots of the Revolutionary War and their descendants from Craven and Carteret Counties, North Carolina. In 2013 I established the genealogy database used for the creation of the North Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution Patriot Isaac Carter Chapter--the only SAR Chapter dedicated to a free soldier of color--one of the 14 Free Patriots of Color known as the Harlowe Patriots. Since then I've been co-authoring a series of books dedicated to the stories of Black, Indigenous, and Female Forgotten Patriots for The Society of the First African Families of English America, and am currently in the early stages of writing a book about the three sisters of one of those patriots. |
