Introduction Art has been one of my passions since childhood. I drew and painted as a child, and at the age of 11 I won an art scholarship - a year of free lessons at the Montclair Art Museum. But I never quite found my niche until I discovered pastels. The rich vibrant colors of pastels have captured my heart and imagination. I now paint as much as I can. For the last few years I have taken lessons from Master Pastelists Alex Piccirillo and Christina Debarry. In my 'day job' I was a senior systems programmer on a large consulting contract, and supported CICS/TS and MQSeries software - at least until the Indians took over my job,in June 2010. My other serious avocation is studying human nutrition and the optimal diet for the best health - a never-ending quest. I also enjoy nature, bird watching, choral singing and reading. I have a grown son and a darling grandson as well. I served as 2nd Vice President and Exhibitions Chair of the Pastel Society of New Jersey, but in 2011 moved to NE Florida. I now serve as Recording Secretary of the Art Guild of Orange Park, Secretary of the First Coast Pastel Society, and Treasurer of the St. Johns Audubon chapter.
