| Introduction | A long-time wife and mother of four, I was widowed at age 48. Several years later I returned to school, which became for me the "fountain of youth." I found I loved being back in school as a mid-life student and subsequently earned an M.Ed. in adult education. Later, working with Elderhostel, I was able to indulge in my love of lifelong learning for older adults. Along with my Elderhostel work, while living in central New Hampshire, I wrote a new book, "Learning Later, Living Greater: The Secret for Making the Most of Your After-50 Years." In the spring of 2007 we moved to southern New Hampshire to be closer to our children, grandchildren and Boston for my work. My newest endeavor is the development of an online course on the Daily Om web site called "Make the Most of Your After 50 Years," which can be found at http://www.dailyom.com/cgi-bin/courses/courseoverview.cgi?cid=207&aff= In my spare time I love to read, garden, cook, and now I can visit more easily with my four children and three grandchildren. |
