Introduction	I’m a reader: of books, Tarot, pictures, peopleS, animals, the universe, stones and waters. All these readings occur in different contexts: 1) As an academic, I read and write about academic stuff. You’re welcome to browse my related pages here. 2) Apart from my main field, American Studies, I’m also interested in the critical, historical, and analytical study of mysticism and esoteric movements. I research into Gnostic and hermetic currents of late antiquity and the history of the ‘occult sciences’. Of special interest is tarot, magic, magick, shamanism, seidr, and norse mythology. I read Tarot cards as a means of tapping into the wonderful memory of situated wisdoms. My shamanic training and seidr practice have been consolidated through work with Annette Høst and the Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies.
