| Introduction | Kinesthesia is a company created by Kira Palmer and Joe Hollis from Winchester University. Their first performance is a sensory journey and installation aiming to make you feel at ease with your senses. The human body uses many kind of senses in everyday life, one sense emerging to another, touch, smell, sight, sound and taste. From when you were a child, you learnt to use these senses, and then as you become an adult you stop learning how to use them and become one with them. You don’t need to think about them, you don’t need to work them, your body just knows how to use them and when to use them. What happens when you take away one or more of those senses? What if your sight was taken away? How would you react? How would your body cope? Would another sense come alive and become enhanced or would you not feel anything at all? KINESTHESIA brings this to you with an emotional journey through the historical city of Winchester, ending on a sensory installation to reflect over your experience. |
