| Introduction | My names Peter, Im 23 years old and live near Bedford (UK). Ive been lure fishing for just over 18 months and am well and truly hooked (pardon the pun)! Prior to lure fishing I fished a variety of methods, mainly river fishing for chub, Barbel and what ever else took my bait. I also occasionally fished for carp and other related course fish on some local stillwaters but found the long spells of inactivity very uninspiring and boring. Lure fishing was a big eye opener, my main inspiration came from watching a few episodes of a TV program called "The fishing Adventurer"(Cyril Chauquet) on Discovery and thought that looks fun, so I gave it a try and haven't looked back ever since. I mainly fish rivers in and around Bedfordshire with the odd canal and lake voyage thrown in when the rivers are either unfishable or just fancy a change. Ive caught Pike up to 15lbs, Perch up to 2 1/2lb and Chubb to 5lb all on lures of course! Ive also just bought myself a 6 weight fly rod n reel (Jan 10) and and hope to tempt chub and perch using flies when the weather warms up a bit more.
