| Introduction | Since I've only been Betty Wieland for 5 years, most people know me as Betty Veldman. I recognize that name too. :)After being in leadership of CB and small groups internationally for 24 years, I retired 3 yrs ago (early) so I could spend winters in FL with my husband (his passion--FL, I mean). I am a strong believer in building relationships and "being there" for the people God places in my life. I have a moderate to profound hearing loss (also one of the reasons I retired--it's been progressive), so this blog format is perfect for me. |
| Interests | Reading, writing, being outside soaking in God's creation, boating, hanging out with friends. Oh, and a new interest is dancing to the rhythm in my soul (and sometimes body too). |
| Favorite movies | Ah, I'm the ultimate romantic and enjoy a good chick flick, as well as "deep thinking" movies, most recently "Luther." |
| Favorite music | A wide variety here. I like classical, praise & worship, oldies/goodies, and even some country western (if it's not too twangy). |
| Favorite books | The Bible (God and other authors) and My Utmost for His Highest (Oswald Chambers) are a daily "must read" for me. Other favorites change. Right now I'm recommending "The Shack" (Wm Young) and "Sex God" (Rob Bell). Very stretching. |
