Introduction I am the director of a Financial Wellness Program for a national arts-related non-profit. I work with groups, individuals, couples, and families to help them pursue financial wellness and bring money into balance. Financial wellness is a way of understanding and accepting the role that money plays in everyday life. It includes feeling competent making financial decisions and communicating about money with friends and loved ones from a place of clarity and purpose. It is not about building wealth per se, but centers on principles of self-care and self-determination. As a licensed social work professional and certified financial social worker, I believe that we pursue financial wellness not only as individuals but as a society as well. Advocacy, consumer education, and political engagement are part of my practice, and I encourage everyone to participate in shaping the policies that impact their lives.
