Gender Female
Occupation Speaker, Writer
Location Greer, South Carolina, United States
Introduction Nearly thirty years ago Marilyn had the benefit of a mentor who pointed her to extraordinary treasures from the Bible. She has also found that life's paths with its detours, seasons, and challenges have priceless God-given treasures along the way and inspired her to write Diva Delights.  She considers it a privilege to pass on her life experiences through writing and teaching. She enjoys sharing refreshment with women's groups over retreats and teas.
Interests In 2004 Marilyn sensed that God was moving her away from her career as a speech-language pathologist and  professor in Christian higher ed, to writing and other areas of women's ministry.  Since that time, she has authored three devotional books, served as an editor for Penned from the Heart, and been a contributor to various compilations, online sights, blogs and magazines. Widowed for five years, Marilyn shares experiencing God's faithfulness in loss and new beginnings to women's groups and sites dedicated to widowhood, such as Widow's Might/A New Season. Marilyn has been involved with women's ministries in her church for several years as a MOPS mentor and a Bible study teacher.  Marilyn and her husband took early retirement in January and moved to the Charlotte area in 2009.  Life abruptly changed in December, 2011, when her husband suffered a fatal attack. Her experience with grief and loss have allowed her to contribute to blogs on that topic and serve as a facilitator for a grief support group at her church. In August 2014 she moved to Greer, SC where she enjoys being near family and a church family at Taylors First Baptist Church. She has found God's faithfulness to be real with every step she takes. Marilyn has three grown daughters, three sons-in-law, and eight sweet grandchildren. When they gather around her dining room table, you will hear her say without a doubt, "My cup is running over."
