Introduction	The Madagascan Gin Palace first opened it's doors in April 1995. The brain child of current owner Richard Hayman. The concept was to bring an exotic eating experience to Newbury, offering exciting and interesting food, in an atmosphere that reminded people of the places they enjoyed eating in whilst on holiday. The intention was not to be branded a Spanish restaurant or an Italian but to be ecclectic, offering dishes from around the world. This is also reflected in the mix of Latin, African and Continental music played in the background and the array of masks and artifacts that adorn the walls.
