| Introduction | Why this site? I have enjoyed sharing my miniatures work for a number of years on another site, but one day, after having a difference with one of the site moderators, I found that my postings had been deleted as part of this person's departure from the site. And to make matters worse, my postings could not be restored. Thus the germ was planted which has brought us here, to my own site, The Lair of the Begemot.
I hope that what you find here pleases and you will forgive the immodesty of it all. Who or what is Begemot? Begemot is a character in Mikhail Bulgakov's satirical novel, "The Master and Margarita", a modern classic of Russian literature. He is a cat the size of a hog, with a liking for chess, vodka, pistols, and jokes. While not being a cat, I have indulged in Begemot's other predilections. |
