| Introduction | Bio: Nurse Fisher is an honor graduate of The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where she earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing. Her Bachelor’s degree in nursing is from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Nurse Fisher has been a practicing Registered Nurse since 1994 and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2007. She has logged thousands of hours helping mothers breastfeed and providing health education to parents and patients. Nurse Fisher spent twelve years working with premature and sick newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her experience also includes pediatrics, newborn nursery, adolescent care, pre and post surgical care, and teaching health occupations skills at the high school level. Every day she is active in clinic and completes well and sick exams on patients ages newborn to 21, followed by treating patient illnesses and making health promotion recommendations. Nurse Fisher has a special interest in the breastfeeding dyad as well as the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. |
