| Introduction | White British male. 3/4 English, 1/4 Scottish. Convert from Anglican Christianity to Sunni Islam. Strong belief in social justice. Generally tolerant and open-minded. Intolerant of idiocy, hypocrisy, bigotry, and injustice. Against big-government and big-business as they distort markets. Most at home with right-of-centre politics based on pragmatism rather than ideology. Studied Classics at Oxford Uni. ("Literae Humaniores" as they call it there.) Is a traditionalist in believing that Islam is as fine as it's always been. Is a maverick in thinking that interpretations of Islam for different cultures and times are unsuitable for modern Britain.
