Introduction Welcome fiction lovers. I hope you find Murderous Musings insightful and entertaining. I always enjoy writing about whatever's on my mind. Few topics are off limits, which keeps the blog interesting. My just-released Detective Maxx Watts series kicks off with Writer's Block. This classic who-done-it set in Fort Worth takes the reader inside the publishing industry. Yes, writing can be murder. Maxx Watts' next adventure deals with an insomniac that swears the ghost in the Scott Theater convinced him he was murdered, not hanged himself as legend states. Fun stuff. Next year, I hope to re-release Danger Within and The Innocent Never Knew in e-book format. Writer's Block and Diablo's Shadow are already in e-book formats. My web site will keep you informed. As an international airline pilot, I have unique opportunities to develop characters and settings. I have circled the globe countless times, and have had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people along the way. No doubt, these travels have influenced my writing. Speaking of travel, check out the travel section on my web site. You’re bound to find something of interest.
Interests Spending time with my wife, flying, writing, painting, hiking, restoring cars, boats, and airplanes.
Favorite Movies I love comedy, musicals, and action movies. Paul is one of the funniest alien spoof movies I've seen. The Outlaw Josey Wales, High Plains Drifter, and Silverado remain some of the greatest Westerns ever to be made. The King's Speech is a great drama. Red is one of the best comedy/action movies out there. It's always nice watching movies that involve acting as opposed to special effects. I also like the Pink Panther series, and Shanghi Noon. What can I say? I love to laugh.
Favorite Music Flogging Molly's Speed of Darkness is a superb new album. Mumford and Sons and The Band Perry have also put out some great music lately. Early Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, the Beach Boys, and the Beatles are still favorites, but The Zac Brown Band is really fun. I always enjoy checking out new music.
Favorite Books Flyboys and Shadow Divers are excellent non-fiction WWII stories. As for fiction, you can't beat Dean Koontz' Odd Thomas series and Michael Crichton's State of Fear. Robert Crais has turned out some fun books, too.

What's the most amount of sand you've ever had in your swimming trunks?

It's not the quantity, but rather the quality of sand that matters . . .
