| Introduction | If you don't know my name or face...you probably know my voice. At XC and track meets I am constantly yelling. I cheer for pretty much all of the runners regardless of their team affiliation--hence the blog name "screamin' scott." I grew up in Fresno, California. I began running at the age of 12. It immediately appealed to me. I was good at it and it didn't require a whole team in order to experience success. I would continue running in HS where I would letter all three years in both XC and track. My senior year I qualified for the California State Championship in the 1600 (4:27). Later I would run two years of varsity XC at Chico State. Educationally I earned a BS in Chemistry at Chico and a teaching credential from Fresno State. I have been teaching General Science at Argus HS since 1988. I have also taught health, orientation, been the interim principal, interim counselor, and coordinator. I have coached basketball, volleyball, and softball over the years at Argus. In 2010 I started as the volunteer assistant XC coach and in 2011 I became the distance track coach at Thomas Downey HS. After coaching in 2010-11 I am now back to just being a noisy spectator. |
