Introduction Hello and welcome to Leaves and Blooms. My name is Suellen. I am a retired reference librarian. I worked at Saint Mary's College Library for four years, and before that I was an instruction/reference librarian at California State University Fullerton. Although my profession is academic librarianship, my passion is gardening, art, and everything Bloomsbury, especially the inspiring works of Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville West, and the paintings of Vanessa Bell. Before moving to Orinda, I lived and gardened in Silverado Canyon. My current Orinda garden is in many ways a reflection of me and this blog....a work in progress. My garden remains, as always, my canvas; the California natives and agreeable perennials the colors on my palette. My Santa Rosa plum, apples, pear and now fig trees vex me in late June, calling me to remain at home. I am making this Orinda garden my own.
