| Introduction | I am sixteen years of age and have been swimming since I was very young, in the River Blackwater in Fermoy with my Grandad. Since the age of about nine, I have been swimming with my local club and really enjoy it. But, in 2006 I became very interested in open-water swimming, that year I competed in the Lee Swim and the Sandycove Island Challenge. I did reasonably well in both events. In 2007 I added the Liffey Swim and became the youngest person to swim from the Speckled Door to Sandycove. |
