About me

LocationOttawa, Ontario, Canada
IntroductionI live in Ottawa with my husband and two children. I have a long history of artistic endeavors. I have created art using a variety of mediums including: exposed wire, stained glass, fused glass, glass mosaic, quilting, knitting, upholstery, and needlework. My work with with fabric began when I was a child. Throughout my life I have created variety of unique quilts. About a year ago, I took two Paverpol sculpture classes with Mary Lou Devine. I was hooked and have taken on a real passion for working with this medium. For me, working with Paverpol provides a meditative and peaceful experience. I have a variety of sculptures available for sale. Please contact me. If you are interested in learning more about working with Paverpol, I would recommend contacting Mary Lou to determine a course that would be of interest to you. More information on Mary Lou and her spectacular work can be found at www.simplydevinepaverpol.com.
InterestsPaverpol is a textile hardener that is environmentally friendly and is harmless to people, animals and plants. It is used to create sculptures that can be displayed in gardens during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Sculptures usually start with a framework, sometimes preformed but are often made from recycled materials. Fabric saturated with Paverpol fabric hardener is then wrapped and draped to dress the figures. The folds and movement are captured as the fabric dries to a hard tactile finish, giving it life. Each sculpture is unique, no two pieces are the same.
