| Introduction | Believe it or not, I am a male IT geek and kitchen is the last place in my mind. I started with very little experience in cooking. My option of eating outside is very limited since most restaurants in my area don't serve food that complies with Islamic food laws (no alcohol, no pork, etc). One day I got tired of starvation and eating same type of food on a daily basis. So I decided to take cooking as my hobby. It is a perfect past time when I am too tired to study, work, or anything else. Cooking turns out to be fun as long as food turns out good. My decision of cooking probably got influenced from "food culture" of Japan where I grew up. I used to regularly watch a show in NHK about children cooking titled "Cooking with Mai chan." A quarter of all the programs in Japanese TV are related to food. Beside I am picky about taste so now I am in full control :-) |
