| Introduction | I am a second generation Italian American who has been visiting Italy for almost 15 years. When I first visited the Cinque Terre 7 years ago, I knew I would always return, and when I did, I fell in love with more then just Monterosso al Mare. I met an amazing local man and after an incredibly romantic sounding but expensive and impractical "long distance relationship" I packed up my life in New York City and New Jersey and moved, after finishing my Masters Degree in Food Studies and Culture at New York University. I study the reasons why and how people access the foods they do and what that says in a broader cultural context - some of my passions include anchovies, Italian foodways, and beer or beverage history and drinking culture. You can find me cooking, eating, writing about food, reading about food, or at La Cantina Di Miky, serving food (our restaurant). |
