Introduction Claudia Westermann is an artist and architect, licensed with the German Chamber of Architects, and Senior Associate Professor in Architecture at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in Suzhou, China, where she co-founded the Urban Ecologies research group, bridging Art, Humanities, and Science. She holds postgraduate degrees in Architecture and Media Art and obtained a Ph.D. from CAiiA, Planetary Collegium, for her research on a poetics of architecture entitled "Inhabitable Theories." Her work has been exhibited and presented internationally at conferences and at more than 30 international exhibitions. Claudia Westermann received several awards, including two teaching prizes for the Philosophy of Art module for architecture undergraduates that she has been teaching since 2014.
