IntroductionNameera Ahmed is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Karachi, teaches at Karachi University, and is a Digital Reviewer for Leonardo Reviews, (Leonardo/ISAST). She obtained her Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design at the Sabancı University Istanbul, focusing on Documentary Filmmaking. Her films have had international screenings, “give me your love” (2007), “Sabir Ali: water carrier” (2009),“Reflections in the mirror” (2008), “The Charm of Transitoriness” (2009). “Nursing the Mangroves” (2010) is screening in competition in LinkTV’s ViewChange online film contest. Three of her films exhibited at the Mohatta Palace Museum Karachi’s “The Rising Tide” exhibit (2011). Her film,“The Living Amongst the Dead” (2010), is about the flood refugees staying at the historical Makli Necropolis, and her latest film “When the Rains Came” (2011), made for PANOS South Asia and produced by Newsline Films, explores the man-made aspects of the Pakistan 2010 Floods.
