About me

Introduction I live near Minden, Ontario, I moved here full time over 10 years ago. I'm 72, divorced. Two kids and 4 grandchildren, the oldest of whom is a 2nd. Lt. in the Canadian Air Force, training to be a fighter pilot. The younger ones are all girls, all in school and I'm super proud of all of them. I'm a cancer survivor. I'm short for my weight and I can jump so high that sometimes I get my toes off the ground! Which is why I love basketball. My scientific background has morphed into the art side. And I’m a teacher at heart, I never give up a teaching moment. I've done a lot of things in my life, but now my focus is photography. I'm a certified judge, the founding President of the Haliburton Highlands Camera Club. I’m trying to learn how to sketch and paint. I've written over 500 blog posts since 2004 plus several e-books and coffee table photo books. I wrote more than 40 photography columns for the Minden Times, and still working on a novel. I shoot "rocks and trees". Newfoundland is my favourite place. I shoot Nikon. I share my Lightroom and Photoshop knowledge with others. My images are more a reflection of what I see with my mind than with my eyes.
