Introduction	You know that moment, that predicament, of thinking of the perfect retort too late? Well the French have a term for this: L'esprit de l'escalier. (It sounds better than the literal translation of staircase wit, doesn't it.) Well this predicament sums up my life pretty darn well. I'll get that perfect idea, that perfect retort. Unfortunately, everyone else will have already left the party! It’s time I got an aide for that staircase, hence the stairlift wit. Oh well. Time to pick myself up, dust myself down and start again. My blogs are based on real experiences, though I do protect the identity of my patients, their family’s and my colleagues. All names, ages, nationalities and locations have been changed as to uphold their anonymity. All opinions shared are mine and mine alone and are not that of my employers.
