| Introduction | Cites fascinate me. So does "sense of place." This blog explores cities, mostly those on the West Coast, and mostly at a fine-grain level. I don't approach this subject as a trained planner, but as a journalist and passionately interest observer. I wrote about planning, development and related public policy first as a newspaper reporter and later as editor of a trade publication and national magazine correspondent. I'm also co-wrote a land use planning textbook with Bill Fulton. These days, I work as an editor and analyst in the Environment & Planning Division of ICF International. You won't read about my ICF work or any ICF projects on this blog. |
