| Introduction | I lived in a cookie cutter version of suburban utopia. Like most suburbanites I had the requisite husband, kids, dog, minivan, and mortgage. Last year however we fled the suburbs for the big city and relocated to Central Phoenix. Managing a family with 4 kids of varying ages is a constant juggling act with me dropping the ball all the time. The 4 that make us 6 include high school senior, a 9 yr old heart surgery survivor (times three), and a set of identical twin girls. While we have finally escaped suburbia and relocated to a more urban enclave we face new challenges everyday. My mind is distracted and amused (allowing my sanity to remain somewhat intact) by working as the managing artistic director of a teeny, tiny black box theater, finishing my nursing degree, earning some semblance of a paycheck from a local hospital, and carting my children to various play dates and activities. Spare moments are spent clearing my overloaded head by writing, reading, cooking, and indulging my passion for music. In between it all, I attempt to get some sleep. Mayhem often ensues - this is my bittersweet symphony. |
