| Introduction | Creative Visionary :: Performer :: Costume Designer :: Hoop Instructor:: Hoop Maker:: Mom:: Hooping since 2001! I began teaching Hula Hoopla locally in 2005. Through the years I have developed this program into an energetic, playful offering of exercise and dance exploration for all ages. My workshops have been featured at Hoopcamp (California), Madskillz Flow Juggle Spin Festival (Vancouver), Vancouver Island Musicfest, Atmosphere Gathering (Comox Valley, BC), Davie Days (Vancouver), Elevate the Arts (Courtenay, BC), Victoria Juggling Festival (by Lyndsay Spencer), Diversity Festival (Texada Island, BC, with Lyndsay Spencer). One of my first hoopdance performances was 2003 at Nanaimo's InFringing Dance Festival. I soon contstructed a flaming hula hoop and formed NOVA Firespun Performance Arts troupe with 4 other daring souls. I created the first heart-shaped hula hoops in 2011. My Prop Manipulation Skills include Double Hoop, Fire Hoop, Fire Poi, Fire Fans, Fire Staff, and the occasional Flaming Headress. |
