Introduction After earning a BSc in Astrophysics from St. Andrew's University, I received semicha from Rabbi Simon Franses (z"l) through the Leo Baeck College, a few months before starting work as Principal Rabbi of Bournemouth Reform Synagogue in August 2005. I am married to Rabbi Jenny Goldfried Amswych. We have two children - our daughter Zafra and our son Asher, and two dogs, Parker and Pym. In 2007 I founded IDEA: Interfaith Dorset Education and Action, which became Dorset's largest interfaith environmental organisation. I was also responsible for bringing the Earth Charter to Bournemouth Borough Council, the first UK authority to adopt The Earth Charter. In 2012, I was shortlisted for shortlisted for the UK's National Climate Week's "Most Inspiring Leader" award. In 2014, I became the Rabbi of Temple Beth Shalom in Santa Fe and in 2016 I became the President of the ILA (Interfaith Leadership Alliance of Santa Fe). I am currently working on my first book, combining my passion for religion and environmentalism.
