| Introduction | They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks. At the age of 54 I decided to take up painting. It's been a while now and I've been riding the roller coaster ever since. As a photographer for over 35 years I decided, "Can't be that hard!" Yeah, I hear you laughing. Ok, it is that hard! Anyway, I've been astounded by the ups and downs of this process. So much so, that I decided to start a chronicle of my painting exploits. Maybe some useful information will show up here for other painters looking up at the steep slope of the learning curve. Or, maybe this will be good for a "been there, done that" or two. Either way, here are some insights and ramblings from a middle-aged painter. |
