Introduction	I spent 20 years in a succession of maximum security prison starting from the age of 21, when I was duped into taking part in a crime that was described as international terrorism. I thought I was going to Birmingham for a social visit and walked into a house where there were 5 or 6 people who were armed and had planned to kidnap an Indian diplomat to negotiate the release of a founder of the Kashmiri Freedom movement. I was finally arrested and convicted of Murder (even though I had not killed the victim nor was at the scene)and unlawful imprisonment. I served almost 20 years in maximum security prisons and out of the five maximum Security Dispersal prisons I was kicked out of four of them. I realised that I had the ultimate sentence so there was nothing they could do to me and anyway being 5'4" and weighing about eight stone I thought I would die in prison anyway so I had a licence to do whatever I wanted. I am the only person who has been convicted of a terrorist murder and has been released into society.

Favorite books	too many to mention but i loved Ulysses, Lolita, Portrait of the Artist as a young Man, Midnights Children, A suitable boy, etc. I had very little to do except read.
