Introduction	I was born in 1980 in Santiago do Cacem, in Alentejo, Portugal. My first 18 years were spent mostly in Alentejo, both on the coast and inland. Each summer I travelled with my parents, by car, up and down Portugal and sometimes into Spain and as far as Morocco. The first camera I used was a German-made point and shoot from the early 70s that belonged to my dad (“AGFAMATIC 300 – Sensor”; specs: two CdS Computer Automatic cells, a AGFA COLOR - AGNAR 1:8/44 fixed lens, Paratronic Shutter). Since 1998, I have lived in Wales, South Carolina (USA), England (London, Oxford and Nottingham) and Northern Ireland. I have a love for travelling, learning about other cultures and peoples as well as their traditions, problems and values. I regularly travel to Portugal to visit my family and friends as well as fill my lungs with fresh air and my spirit with hope.
