Occupation Classical Music~ Mezzo-Soprano
Introduction Born in Manhattan and raised in Atlanta, Lainie Diamond is a versatile artist of many talents. A Mezzo-Soprano equally praised for her vocal and dramatic stage presence. She enjoys singing a diverse range of repertoire from opera to baroque and sacred works, new music and art songs. Her voice has been praised by the Danbury News-Times for it’s “warm and poignant quality.” Lainie made her Lincoln Center Avery Fisher Hall debut as Bellangère in Ariane et Barbe-bleue with The American Symphony Orchestra.She was honored to sing as soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in the first performance in New Orleans after Katrina. Recent performances include numerous Handel Messiahs; and as guest soloist for her friend Msgr. Dalla Villa's Memorial mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Lainie was the Cantor for all of Fr. Anthony's last masses at St. Patrick's. Lainie is also the creator of Houston, we have Laughter! The first weekly group in Houston. Clients include teaching mentally and physically challenged adults at The Center; Bering Omega AIDS Community Services; and Instructor at The Jung Center. Lainie is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans.
