| Introduction | I live a life of in genteel poverty in South East London, juggling work, family, a piano, and editing the on-line music label Plushmusic. In 2006, Atlantic Books published The Weight of Numbers. It's translated into most European languages: the French edition's just out now. In 2007 The Eye: a Natural History was published by Bloomsbury, to very good reviews. An American edition, retitled A Natural History of Seeing, came out in October 2008.
