| Introduction | I'm a 50-something serial career changer most recently into volunteering as a docent for the National Park Service on the National Mall. My most recent degree is in information science (once known as library science). I've been a teacher, engineer, information tech person, manager, graduate student, and consultant, among other things. I've worked for a museum, private companies, the federal government, universities, school systems, and myself. Before volunteering, I processed a photographic collection for the National Building Museum and taught an advanced searching course for the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland. |

Sponges and tongues are frequently misspelled. Is it because both are thirsty?
A memorable misspelling (another word frequently misspelled!): "The Velvet Tounge" (on the marque of a drive-in movie theater:)
