Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
Something to do with the chemical composition of blood including metal. I'd imagine tasting a penny (or any coinage) would be overwhelmingly close to the experience of losing a tooth too ;) Maybe voluntarily at age of 5 - 12, or involuntarily on being thrown on the street after a lovely bar fight.
