| Introduction | Anna Francis is an artist and lecturer in Fine art at Staffordshire University. WLTM is a dating agency for art works. WLTM is an exhibition which is due to take place in the Standing Room at Harrington Mills Studios, Long Eaton on August 30th 2008. WLTM is a curatorial investigation into a new way of selecting and exhibiting art works which removes the personal, subjective thoughts and feelings of the Curator, using statistical data alone to select and pair works of art for an exhibition. WLTM ensures that every artist that submits an application has an equal chance of being selected, regardless of previous experience, c.v. or relationship to the curator. WLTM grew out of a conversation with Harrington Mill Studio's Jackie Berridge about the sometimes frustrating process of proposal writing for projects and exhibitions - and the lack of transparency that many selection processes allow. WLTM will see the development of the character 'The Director' - the dating agency boss. Both Anna Francis and the Director will submit information to this blog, each will sign at the end of the entry in order to show who has written what. |
