Industry Arts
Occupation Artist
Location Kentucky, United States
Introduction Born and raised in the lovely, flat farm land of western Michigan, Benjamin moved with his parents and three brothers, to the picturesque and rolling Green Mountain state of Vermont in 2001 which helped to inspire his style. Benjamin is self-taught. At the age of twelve he received his first commission as an illustrator. Within a year, he began familiarizing himself with acrylics.   Ben’s style and composition reflects his appreciation for the work of American Folk Artists of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. He also enjoys painting realism. Ben has worked in many mediums, but acrylic on canvas has been his primary medium for several years. A love for nature, farm life, and God’s creation inspires all of his work, and challenges him to “mirror the Master” in every piece. Benjamin is currently a professional Production Designer and has done extensive work for museums, theaters, and film. He and his wife Kaitlyn are also Directors at Merit Theatre Company, www.merittheatre.org When not at work, Ben enjoys music, photography, woodworking, and recreation. Benjamin’s original art may be purchased here, online.
