| Introduction | I was born and raised in San Jose, CA. I am married and have 2 beautiful daughters age 3 and 10. I am an Animal Care Specialist and a SGT in the U.S. Army. I have been enlisted for over 9 years. Currently I am stationed at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City, SD. On Aug 20th I was seen at the local emergency hospital after suffering recurring headaches nearly daily for 2 months and then suffering a loss of my ability to operate my computer at work and numbness in my fingers. At the E.R. I had a cat scan performed and MRI which revealed a mass in my left perietal lobe appoximately olive-golfball size as well as moderate intracranial swelling. 3 days later on the 23rd I had surgery to have the Mass removed and it was identified by my Neurologist as a Class 4 Glioblastoma. Since then I have been recovering well and so far responding to the Chemo and Radiation treatment with no problems. I have been very blessed and fortunate to be surrounded by a caring family and support network. |
