Introduction	My name is Lee M. Pappas. I am a Lecturer of History at Sam Houston State University. I received my college education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico and earned Masters of Arts Degrees in History and Political Science. I also did post-graduate studies at the University of California--Los Angeles in Middle East History. My areas of teaching and research interests are the Ottoman Empire, the Middle East and Central Asia. I taught American History (History 163 and 164) and World History (265 and 266) at SHSU between 1990 and 1996. Since then I have been raising our daughter, Zoe. In 2006, I returned as an adjunct instructer in history.
