IntroductionCurrently, I'm a graduate student, studying for a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction (essentially, the study of creating awesome interfaces like web sites and making them usable). When I'm not Downtown in Chicago, I’m in the Metro Area, working full-time at a library as a web and graphic designer and IT support. My free time consists of any of the following: reading books on web and graphic design or Ancient Egypt (fiction and non-fiction), frequenting Chicago events (plays, musicals, music-in-the-park shows, exhibits, lectures and conferences, international film festivals, baseball games), watching TV (mostly ghost hunting or crime scene programs and silent films) or movies (anything with depth and Rachel Weisz), writing (notes to myself or ideas for my historical fiction series), "playing on the computer" (blogging, Facebooking, web designing), modeling in fashion shows or photoshoots, or eating. If I had more time, I’d play my violin or the piano. Since I value sleep, I haven’t played either in over a year. I'm a Renaissance Woman, a Jane of All Trades, obsessed with being unique (these white 1950s-style glasses help...oh, and my Edwardian Prep/Victorian Vogue wardrobe).

You've got to make contact with the alien leader. How will you tell when the conversation is finished?

When I've said s/t utterly taboo & the alien leader vaporizes me or it turns its back & walks away, leaving me to wonder "Is this conversation over?" Either way, I won't truly know. Another question: if we held a conversation, it'd be safe to say I'd know when it was over. Otherwise, how could there be an end to a conversation if neither me nor the alien leader understood each other at the start?
