| Introduction | The Economizer is devoted to the cultivation of conservative ideas in political conversation in the Philippines. Being concerned that socialist ideas derived from Marxist philosophy have dominated political and economic discussion throughout modern Philippine history since the Quezon Presidency, The Economizer has taken this humble step of writing a blog, hoping that it will be the germ of what will prove to be a larger popular movement. Like The Wall Street Journal, The Economizer "stands for free trade and sound money; against confiscatory taxation and the ukases of kings and other collectivists; and for individual autonomy against dictators, bullies and even the tempers of momentary majorities." |
