Introduction	Despite the title of this blog, I'm not really a farmer. Rather, I am an apprentice, a student learning about farming and gardening. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I grew my first tomatoes with my Dad in a garden bed next to our house. Most of my gardening and farming experience has been experimental; I have learned from peers and books. Now, I'm embarking on a journey to be a farm and garden apprentice with the Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems at UC Santa Cruz. Over the next six months, I will be documenting my experience and sharing tidbits about cultivating plants and food. Join me on this exciting journey!
